COCONUT GROVE, FL (May 15, 2009) – The Arts continue to thrive in historic Coconut Grove, and the once-infamous Mutiny Hotel now draws a new kind of attention to itself, every first Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The bright swatch of coral that is The Mutiny Hotel and the intensely blue South Florida sky offer the perfect backdrop for the colorful and thought-provoking works of South Florida’s artists.
Each month, a different local artist will be featured at Pure Imagination, in conjunction with the Coconut Grove Art Stroll, held the first Saturday of each month. The Mutiny Hotel invites the public to enjoy an evening of complimentary wine pours and hors d’oeuvres that will highlight the best the hotel has to offer. A member of Summit Hotels and Resorts, The Mutiny Hotel is a tucked-away treasure in Coconut Grove that offers personalized service with the level of luxury required by the discerning traveler. The hotel’s restaurant, Atchana’s East/West Kitchen, provides a full service Pan-Asian themed menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant will be open for dinner during Pure Imagination, showcasing a culinary imagination of inspired Thai favorites and creative Western dishes.
The Arts inspire, encourage creativity, and stir the soul – with Pure Imagination, The Mutiny Hotel provides an attractive venue for artists to show their work and reach a greater audience, making art more accessible to all. The public is invited to stroll in and enjoy the finest collection of local artists; artists scheduled to participate include Ed King (May 2nd), Hector Maldonado (August 1st) and Deborah Weed (October 3rd). Also scheduled to participate is a collaborative group, Summer Salon, headed by Debra Cortese along with as many as 29 other local artists. Saunter along the Coconut Grove Art Stroll, and wander in to Pure Imagination for cocktails, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and inspiring art every first Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Mutiny Hotel is located at 2951 South Bayshore Drive.
